Please read these terms carefully. They include an arbitration clause and a class-action waiver that affect how disputes are resolved (see Section 17). By using RVInspecting.com, you agree to these terms.
1. Who we are
RVInspecting.com (the "Service", "we", "us", "our") is operated by Clowndog Productions LLC, a Texas limited liability company doing business as RVInspecting.com. In these terms, "you" means the person or entity using the Service.
2. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, making a purchase, or using any part of the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
If you're using the Service on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company to these terms.
3. What the Service does
RVInspecting.com helps prospective RV buyers research used recreational vehicles before purchase. Core features include:
- Lookups of National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA)
recalls and consumer complaints
- AI-generated buyer briefs summarizing known issues, common repairs,
and inspection tips for a specific year/make/model
- Saved-search history with a 30-day access window
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using the Service you represent that you are 18 or older and legally able to enter into binding contracts.
5. Your account
You're responsible for the confidentiality of your password and for all activity that happens under your account. If you suspect unauthorized use, email us at support@rvinspecting.com right away.
You agree to give us accurate information at signup and to keep your contact email current. We may suspend or terminate an account if we believe the information is false or that the account is being used to abuse the Service.
6. Purchases and payments
Buyer research ($19.99)
A one-time purchase of buyer research gives you 20 searches over a 30-day access window from the date of purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe. We don't store your full card number on our servers; that lives with Stripe.
Taxes
Prices don't include taxes. Where we're required to collect sales tax, it will be shown at checkout.
7. Refund policy
Buyer research: Once you run any search on your account, your purchase is non-refundable. Unused searches expire at the end of your 30-day access window. If something has gone wrong and you haven't run a search yet, email us at support@rvinspecting.com and we'll sort it out.
8. AI-generated content
The "buyer brief" on each search result is generated by an artificial intelligence model (currently Anthropic's Claude). We think it's genuinely useful — it summarizes common issues, typical repair costs, and things to check before buying. But here's what it is and isn't:
- It is a summary derived from publicly available data and model
training.
- It isn't a professional inspection, appraisal, or warranty.
- AI outputs may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information.
- Decisions with serious financial consequences — like actually buying
an RV — should be backed up by a real inspection from a qualified professional.
By using the Service, you acknowledge that any decision you make based on AI-generated content is your own. We're not liable for outcomes that result from relying on it.
9. Data sources and attribution
Recall and complaint data shown in the Service is sourced from the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration). NHTSA data is publicly available but not exhaustive — manufacturers don't always report every issue, and complaints are user-submitted and unverified. We present NHTSA data as-is without guaranteeing accuracy, completeness, or currency.
10. Not a substitute for professional inspection
The Service is for informational purposes only and is not a substitute for a professional RV inspection. We strongly recommend that anyone buying an RV commission a qualified inspector before purchase. Any information provided by the Service is a starting point for your research, not a final answer.
11. How you may and may not use the Service
You agree not to:
- Scrape, copy, or resell the Service's content or data
- Access the Service through automated means (bots, crawlers) other
than normal browser use
- Share your account with anyone or resell access
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the Service's
source code
- Use the Service to harass, defame, or harm others
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
We may suspend or terminate your access for violations of these rules.
12. Intellectual property
We own the Service — the code, design, original text, reports, and brand. You get a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. That's it. You don't get any ownership rights in our software or content.
PDFs you generate from the Service are for your own personal use in evaluating a specific RV purchase. Don't redistribute them for commercial gain.
13. Your content
If you submit anything to the Service (saved searches, notes, feedback) you keep ownership of it, but you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, and display it for the purpose of running the Service.
14. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information shown is accurate, complete, or up to date.
15. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CLOWNDOG PRODUCTIONS LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL CUMULATIVE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR (B) USD $100.
Some jurisdictions don't allow exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability for consequential damages, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
16. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Clowndog Productions LLC and its officers, members, employees, and agents from any claim or demand — including reasonable attorneys' fees — made by a third party and arising from (a) your use of the Service, (b) your violation of these terms, or (c) your violation of any third-party right.
17. Arbitration agreement and class-action waiver
PLEASE READ THIS SECTION CAREFULLY — IT AFFECTS YOUR LEGAL RIGHTS.
Agreement to arbitrate. Any dispute between you and Clowndog Productions LLC arising out of or relating to these terms or your use of the Service will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Commercial Arbitration Rules, rather than in court. The arbitrator — not a court or agency — has exclusive authority to resolve any dispute. Judgment on the arbitrator's award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual action in small claims court, or seek injunctive relief in a court for intellectual property infringement.
Class-action waiver. You and we agree that each may bring claims against the other only in your or its individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, consolidated, or representative action.
30-day opt-out. You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing support@rvinspecting.com within 30 days of first accepting these terms, with "Arbitration Opt-Out" in the subject line and your name, email, and account info in the body.
Venue and location of arbitration. Arbitration will be held in Texas, or remotely at the arbitrator's discretion.
18. Governing law
These Terms and any dispute between you and us are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. For any claim not subject to arbitration, you and we agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Texas.
19. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time. We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, if we believe your use poses a risk to the Service or other users, or if we discontinue the Service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination — including Sections 12 (IP), 14 (warranties), 15 (liability), 16 (indemnity), 17 (arbitration), and 18 (governing law) — will survive.
20. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where practical, post a notice on the Service or email you. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms.
21. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement. These Terms plus the Privacy Policy are the
entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service, replacing any prior agreements on the same subject.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms without our written
consent. We may assign them in connection with a sale, merger, or reorganization.
- Severability. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest
of the Terms remain in force.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right isn't a waiver of
that right.
